The order in which barbers appear is determined by where they are, what they do, and what their customers say. Nothing else.
Why We Exist
Most of the established UK barber directories fall into one of two camps. The big platforms treat barbers as a sub-category of "beauty and wellness," forcing them to compete with nail salons and facial bars. The general directories are SEO-stuffed listings sites with no editorial value and no quality filter.
The gap in the middle is where TheBarberBoard sits. A directory built specifically for finding a proper barber, with editorial content that helps you make a sensible choice, and a structure that makes browsing actually useful.
How We Make Money
Honestly. Two ways:
- Display advertising via Google AdSense. Standard non-intrusive ads on guide pages, no aggressive popup or interstitial nonsense.
- Affiliate commissions on grooming products we recommend in editorial content. When you click a link to a product on Amazon or another retailer and buy, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.
What we do not do, and will not do:
- Charge barbers to be listed
- Charge barbers to rank higher
- Sell paid promotional spots disguised as editorial
- Accept payment to remove or alter listings
If a barber is on TheBarberBoard, they earned their spot by being a real working UK barber. If they are not, no money changed hands either way.
Our Editorial Standards
The guide content on TheBarberBoard is written by people who actually use UK barbers, not generated wholesale by AI. Where we recommend products in editorial roundups, the recommendations reflect genuine assessments of what works at each price point. We name products we would not recommend so that the recommendations carry weight.
If we get something wrong (a barber has closed, a price has changed, a product has been discontinued), we update it. If you spot something out of date, the contact page works.
